Associations and Clubs
Small Associations and Clubs are fundamental for the development and growth of the sport. Within those groups, a base of passionate and dedicated people work together encouraging future generations, thus renewing and motivating an important consumer market.
They are responsible for future competitors and for the strengthening of the local bodyboarding market and the local image of the sport.
For kids, local clubs are the place where the magic happens, where they share with their friends their first waves, maneuvers and idols.
It is also the first experiences with competitions and event rules. Excitement to be in a heat and the dream to be a champion happen at this level. And this will be a different way to live the sport from now on.
Another important impact of Clubs is the formation of future professionals such as technical staff, media and coaches. Individuals with superior performances may end up being invited to work for bigger entities and at the nationals and internationals events. This could lead to a professional career in the sport.
Do you know who is the best bodyboarder in your local beach or town?
Start a Club or Local Association. Gather some friends and organize a small competition. Pick a place, date and permits and a few local sponsors and get it going.
Knowing the importance of Small Associations and Clubs we at BodyboardingUS came up with some basic paperwork to help you set up your competition. These PDF will help you run a smooth competition from beginning to end.
One piece of advice: get prepared in advance, be organized, fair and have fun!
GOOD LUCK!
